Earth Foundation
Earth Foundation was formed in 2008 with the creation of an environmental mural in the city of Burnaby, BC. As a pilot project, the impact of the mural was greater than could be imagined. As the painting was taking place, people immediately began gathering at the mural site watching and talking about the art. In the days of the painting taking form, more and more people stopped to talk, wanting to learn more about the project and to show thanks for adding beauty to the neighbourhood.

From the onset, it was clear that this project had potential far greater than expected. More than visibly transforming a wall, it had the power to socially connect communities. Even more than this however, the realization in the capacity of public art to teach, engage and inspire became overwhelmingly obvious.

Years later, as the projects have evolved in size, theme and social engagement, we have worked with more than 5000 community members. Students, at risk youth, and hospital patients have worked on over 50 murals, touching lives and adding beauty to their communities. With positive messaging of environmental conservation, social sustainability and the power of love and human compassion, our murals continue to teach and inspire future generations to use their skills and talents to make the world a better place.

About Earth Foundation

Art of Empowerment Program

Earth Foundation in the Community (Gallery)

Earth Foundation works with community youth to transform their own neighbourhoods wall into  bright vibrant murals and public art pieces.

Led by artist Todd Polich, we have painted over 50 murals and worked with more than 5000 young people in bringing art, creativity and beauty to the walls and streets of communities throughout Western Canada. For moire information on how we can create murals in your community please contact us for details.

The Art of Empowerment Program uses the power of artistic expression to allow young people to voice their thoughts, feelings, and aspirations in a way that only art can do.

At times, young people may not have the means or  confidence to express themselves through words. That is where art comes in. Through a series of guided workshops young people learn how to visually communicate in ways that are creative, expressive and honest.

Our projects are big, bold and beautiful. We use public art to transform communities with imagery that is positive, uplifting and reflects the sentiment of a positive tomorrow.

Our art is inspired by the young people that we work with through the Art of Empowerment program. Together we have transformed over 50 community walls into larger than life murals that have beatified neighbourhoods and inspired positive change.
